Welcome to the fifth edition of AdHuntr!
We all love some caffeine and India has an amazing coffee culture. Our love for coffee has led to some incredible new brands entering the D2C coffee space over the last few years.
So let's see which of their ads gave us a real kick!

Our Take: This one is a bright and attractive ad that stands out with it's snazzy patterns. With creative art work and features of the product shown up front it continues to draw the viewers attention. Showcasing the offer and MRP price, drives home a sense of a bargain for customers.The copy highlights what makes Dope Coffee special but we could have done without the weak jokes and puns.As a carousel ad with 7 images we wonder if the products shown at the end get any exposure. Keeping it to just 3-4 images could be something that gets tested.

Our Take: Sleepy Owl Coffee is one of the largest D2C players in coffee and everyone seems to know about them. Or so it seems. With a catchy educational ad they continue to grow their audience. As we've been researching ads, a larger number of brands seem to be creating ads that speak about the brands. This allows them to solidify the brain space they occupy.Unfortunately their ad copy doesn't seem to have gotten the memo. It misses out on explaining some of the features the video showcases.
3) Rage Coffee

Our Take: An effective hook within the first 3 seconds grabs potential customers attention. The hook this ad uses is a problem that many coffee drinkers face around acidity.By quickly switching to a person speaking directly to the customer it helps keep curiosity and engagement high. Rage Coffee also adds a sweetener in the form of a coupon code at the end to try and close the loop.The addition of a user review in the ad copy helps to build confidence in the product for people who are still on the fence.

Our Take: In the world of high decibel ads, Sonnets takes a different approach by appealing to a sense of calm with a low key jazz track. With an opening image that focuses on the classic filter kapi, the brand tries to spark memories of a comforting time.They then move on the various different ways you can brew coffee which ensures anyone who has doubts is left more at ease.We do wish their copy was better and they had made use of the description field.
5) Trelish

Our Take: The video component of this ad was one of the strongest of this week for us.The quick snap energy and ending showcasing the product usage are well done. The differentiated shape of the product made us pause and go, we want that! There can hardly be higher praise for an ad.The image however is weak, they could have shown the benefits of their packaging and concept better.

Our Take: Memes work on social media for a reason. They elicit an emotion and can pack a lot of value in one go. This meme based ad by Rage coffee does exactly that and effectively shows benefits as well. It goes to show that not every ad needs to be highly produced and brands should mix things up with memes often.Their ad copy further emphasizes the benefits of their coffee and matches the content in the ad well.
